The history of the Fiegl sports hut in Sölden began in 1986 with the construction of a single-storey timber frame building erected in record time. Since then, much has changed. Numerous investments, expansions, and new locations in Sölden have helped the family business grow into a leading sports retailer in the Ötztal.
The expansion of online services is also a key innovation, always focused on serving the needs of our customers.
At the beginning only three
Today, we employ up to 50 people at peak times. Impressive development: The original team in the opening season consisted of just three people.
Why Sporthütte Fiegl?
When it started in 1986, the shop really was a wooden hut that was up and running in just four weeks. The name of founder, Alois Fiegl, was the only decoration.
Driven by innovation
We were the first sports shop in Sölden to use a stone sharpening machine back in 1987.
Expansion on wheels
In 1992, we had to expand considerably. To achieve this goal, we lifted our sports hut hydraulically and rolled it to the side to build a cellar and create more space.
Sustainable partnership
Our co-operation with Sport Riml has existed since 1994. Advantage for you: You can exchange your rental equipment at five locations throughout the ski resort.
Sporthütte 2.0
The wooden hut had to go; we needed more space for our customers. In 2008, we completely reorganised our main business. The new sports hut world has a surface area of 1,400 m².
Wicked rides
Biking is part of our DNA. That's why we founded the Bike Rent Station in 2018, your first port of call for all your two-wheeled needs in Sölden. Again, in co-operation with our colleagues from Sport Riml.
Perfect location
Since 1986, our main shop has been situated right next to the valley station of the Gaislachkogl cable car.
You can’t miss our Gaislachkogl branch, which opened in 2010 and is located directly in the cable car station building of the same name.
Our location in the popular Innerwald beginners' ski resort has been welcoming customers since 2016.
