Road trip to Stöckli
Get to know how the skis we recommend to customers are actually made. The team at Sporthütte Fiegl received exclusive insights into the Stöckli premium brand in Switzerland.
Where the heck is Malters?
The Swiss premium ski manufacturer is headquartered in a small community near Lucerne. Just 50,000 pairs of skis are produced annually at Stöckli AG. Why the motto here is "Quality over quantity" was something four of our employees learned first-hand during a visit. They got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look and even had the chance to participate in the ski production process themselves.
Plenty of manual labour
Stöckli's secret recipe starts with its high quality standards. This is reflected in constant controlling, plenty of manual work steps, and a healthy dose of national pride in the "Swiss Made" label. Want an example? Each production series consists of just 36 skis. During the "pairing" process, employees at the factory carefully select the skis that best fit together.
A prominent athlete greeted Sporthütte troop at lunch as a special tribute to their Swiss trip:
Swiss skiing legend Urs Kälin, silver medallist at the Olympic Games in Lillehammer, was a guest at Stöckli in Malters.
